Good Place. Good Food.

A student, singer, designer, daughter, stray animal protector, dreamer…I often find myself wondering:
who am I?

Born Place
I was born in Beijing, China, a fast-paced, constantly evolving city. Growing up as an early 21st-century kid, I’ve witnessed technology transform everyday life—from landline phones to mobile devices, from cash to digital payments. People no longer watch TV; instead, they scroll through TikTok, RedNote, and Instagram instead.
Technology has reshaped many traditional ways of living!

My life followed a steady rhythm: primary school, middle school, high school. Along the way, I explored my love for the arts, participated in several choirs, and played the flute in a music ensemble. In high school, I began taking part in musicals, which opened a new world of performance and creativity for me.
I’ve also been fortunate to travel extensively. The most unique place I’ve visited is Kenya, Africa, where I experienced the wild in its purest form.
Sometimes, I can’t help thinking: what will I become in the future?

Time for College
At age 18, in 2023, I flew to the United States for college—a journey of over 11,238 kilometers from home. Filled with excitement and a sense of novelty, I had to start a new life and manage everything on my own.

New Challenges
Although university life is exciting, it definitely comes with challenges: a new language, a new culture, new people. I initially felt uncomfortable and out of place in this new environment. Seeing so many people already pursuing their interests, I kept wondering:
What do I truly want to do? Who am I truly want to be?

To figure it out, I explored many different courses—Chemistry, Math, Programming, Psychology…all kinds of subjects.
But I was still confused. I don’t enjoy memorizing chemical formulas, I’m not drawn to abstract mathematics, and I don’t want to become a pure software engineer. I love the arts, but I cannot use it to land on a job. At the same time, having been influenced by technology all my life, I know I want something that combines creativity with tech.
I wasn’t anxious about jobs yet, but rather about not having a clear direction—nothing I truly wanted to aim for. I felt like I was losing my sense of purpose.
It was deeply frustrating.

What about ... UX designer?
Coincidentally, I joined Won’dry to design a healthcare app using Figma, focusing on the interface, visuals, and overall user experience. I worked on the visual elements and, when needed, the coding to bring them to life. I loved the moment of completing the high-fidelity demo and seeing it evolve into something real—I would even lose track of time while working in Figma.
Through this experience, I learned a great deal. It felt like the perfect combination of art and technology—the very intersection I’ve always been looking for.

This Is Just A Start
So, here’s a little about myself. After navigating confusion and uncertainty, I’ve committed to pursuing my path in UX.
My journey is not just about finding a job, but about exploring the areas that genuinely inspire me. Rather than trying to pin down who I am, I now embrace a broader vision—choosing not to define myself too narrowly, but to discover the many possibilities of who I can become.

Thank you!
